Another very good if windy day.  We completed the uncovering of the cobbles in the SW quadrant.  One thing we noted was that the cobbles in this corner were overlain by a layer of brown sand, possibly as levelling.  We cleaned up the cobbles at the East end as well.  Finds included a pipe stem stamped “EDINBURGH  J BEGG’S”  and a fair amount of decorated ceramic including an almost complete vase and a cup or mug with a guy in a top hat motif. Quite a lot of other junk as well.
