Saturday 23rd July 10am
Take this great opportunity to join a guided walk around the estate, tours at 11am and 2pm.
Or have a go at some archaeological digging yourself. Equipment provided, no experience necessary!
Clearing, excavating and researching the ruined buildings and parts of the Walled Garden on the Cammo Estate have been on-going for a few years and great progress has been made. It is possible to see where the horses where stalled in the stables; the remains of the cottage where the last cook at the ‘big house’ lived after she retired; the old byre, workshop and bothy that were part of the Steading buildings; part of the foundations of the amazing greenhouse that stood along the heated wall in the Walled Garden. And the EAFS are still uncovering lost secrets and strange finds while striving to interpret the various sites around the estate.
Digging takes place every Monday (weather permitting) from 10am-3pm. If you would like to join in or want more information, please contact us at email@example.com
